I'm getting - at last- a '67 Deluxe Reverb Blackface, and the speaker has already been replaced. It has an older JBL in there, I am not so sure it's the right speaker for it. The old owner says it sounds great with it, I haven't even seen it yet...just doing some research on the right replacement speaker.
So I need some tips! Jensen Alnico? Weber? EV? What should I get?

If it's a D120F or a K120, trust me......it's the right speaker!

The K120 is functionally identical to the D120F except the K-series driver has twice the power-handling capacity of the older D speakers.

Everything you need in the way of specs for the K-series may be found here......

I'm playing my Deluxe Reverb re-issue through a 15-inch D130F. It sounds punchy and huge, with a ballsy bottom end, fat-as-an-opera-diva mids, and glassy smooth highs. Your K120 shouldl sound similar.

Best of luck and congrats on the new amp -- HTH

The 66 DR I have came with a K120 the previous owner had put in there,it sounded great...being the swapper that I am I put a Weber in it and it sounds somewhat darker, but it sounds good to me...but then I might try a Tone Tubby later....I've owned that amp for about 15 years and like to experiment.
I agree to wait and play the amp for awhile,if it sounds like a DR should,a JBL can only be an improvement...you should be very happy.
