But,
Who on this board rocks Avatar cabinets?
Best deal out there I can find.
They look real quality.
I am Looking at the 4 x 10 Vintage "blues breaker" style cab.
I have 4 new celestions sitting in a box looking for a real home.
Looking for solid advice here, so please keep any over opinionated insult hurling to a minimum.

-Thanks-

Avatar builds a pretty respectable enclosure -- much better than Lopo Line and more cost-effective than Mojotone. They really should add some guitar cabs designed to accommodate 15-inch speakers though.

I think that cab in conjunction with the 135 is going to be a scorcher.
now if Fed ex would just hurry up and get my new tubes here.
and I agree with that statement 4 10's and a 15? hmmmmm.........

There are very few guitar amp speaker problems which cannot be solved with a 15-inch speaker. Or two......

If Avatar made a 1x15 cab I would've ended up with one, I'm kinda glad they don't now :) I wouldn't have this cab if they did...

jd newell at newellcabs.com is worth checking out as well; he did my 2x12 combo cab for the Bandmaster. Now also does a "tobacco stain" grill option that looks very good (or bad, depending on your POV).

Haven't used Avatar or the others so can't compare.

Their (avatar) vintage 4x10 $308 shipped with all parts(no speakers)
I already have 4 CELESTION G10C30 16 ohm 10's $60 for all four shipped. (factory overstock sale)
so basically I wound up with a complete cab for under $400.

I'm waiting for my combo cab from JD, and it's not for the Bandmaster :D

More like "VI" or "V".

I've inspired and assisted on several of these conversions. AFAIK, everybody just calls 'em "Spankmaster".

Who knows......mebbe some day FMIC will "see the light" and formalize this amp with a factory offering.

Nice - what are you putting in the combo cab?

I thought briefly of getting a 1x15 combo with a Weber or a good old JBL, but very happy with the 2x12. The tiltback legs and a Dr. Z Brakelite were welcome additions.
