I tried posting this in the Lounge forum, but it seems the topics there are like who the coolest guitar player ever was and what color strat my girlfiend likes best etc., so even tho this is not a guitar amp question, I'm hoping someone who knows more about this PA than me can help me. We have a PX series 2212D stand up Fender PA, the one with the board and built in amp that stands up by itself (and weighs a ton!) Ok we have been using this unit for about a year now and the way my partner has it hooked up we are using one side "A"for mains and the other "B" side for monitors( tho set as a main channel coming out of "B" speaker out). Not always happy with the house mix, I began studying the board and noticed the mon1 and mon2 sends on each channel on this board. These looked like aux sends on most other boards, so i bought a powered monitor so I could custom mix my own monitor using the mon 1 or 2 outputs in the send section. When I try and do this I get the house mix same as if i had no control whatever. The mon pots on the channels do nothing. I tried switching the B channel on the eq switch to monitor, this
cuts out output on speaker out B and still nothing on mon output jack??? I downloaded the manuel and from what I can read this should work. (Yes I have the Mon master up!) This is driving me crazy! It should work without all this hassle. I even tried coming out of the one aux output into my powered monitor and nothing from any channel(aux pots up). What is going on here? any help would be appreciated. Thanks - Jerry

Interesting, I ran sound for a 5 piece acoustic Bluegrass-Swing band, for a year or so. Used a Peavey powered stereo mixer in much the same way you're talking about. In smaller venues, I'd run the PA in mono and use the other channel for the monitor mix. For larger outdoor venues, I'd run the PA in stereo and bring another amp for the monitor mix. But either way, I could always get a monitor signal to a powered monitor for the fiddle player, from the appropriate monitor out jack. Couldn't find the manual for a PX 2212D, is it here on this site ? I have the feeling you're just a switch away from getting a hold of that signal. Art
