Hello again Fender Amp gurus! Y'all were so helpful on my first post, that I have a new question. I've got a DT 412 cabinet that I want to use with my SF Dual Showman reverb. I've decided to take ARJAY'S suggestion and replace the current 8ohm speakers with 4 16ohm drivers to match the 4ohm impedance of the Showman. This seems like the most economical way to make myself a minor league "custom cabinet", as I do like the sturdy construction of the cab. Here's my question, I've seen two sort of different parallel wiring configurations: A) jack/ground>speaker 1>speaker 2>jack/ground, and same again for speakers 3&4 (seems like two separate circuits); B) jack/ground>speaker1>2>3>4>jack/ground (seems like one circuit). Is one wrong? Is one right? Is one better? Does it make any difference? As ever any suggestions for speaker brands/types are much appreciated. Thanks, O!

For a parallel configuration, the positive terminals on all of the speakers need to be linked together, electrically (these are typically marked with a red dot). Ditto with all the negative terminals. Ideally, the wires should be of equal length and kept as short as practical. Most modern speakers use a terminal board riveted to the frame, equipped with a pair of bayonet connectors. Pros will use a crimp tool and a set of correspondingly-sized spade lugs to neatly wire up a cab. Amateurs will wave a 100-watt iron around and scatter solder everywhere. The wire should be a minimum of AWG18, with white insulation used for the positive connections and black for the negative.
