Art,

For me, it'll prolly be ok. But, trying to sell this amp. It's one of those Bandmasters with multi inlet-voltage switch. I put the head into a 2 X 12 inch cab. These small problems sometimes become worse with time. Which could mean revisiting this amp over-&-over.

I'll try the dressing aroudn the sockets and resoldering first. If it still ticks, then the cap across the resistor.

Ok. I re-routed the wires around the 12AX7 that drives the Vibrato section. Resoldered all contacts to the sockets. NO MORE ticking at any level. Did not have to add the 0.02 mfd cap. In addition, the amp is stone quiet, even at "10" no guitar plugged in.

Running reissued TungSol 12AX7's. JAN-Philips 1980 12AT7WA's. 1990's Svetlana 6L6GC. And JAN CBS-Hytron 5U4GB. Very loud powerful tone. Sounds similar to a Super Reverb I once had.
