So, ya, I got another Twin on-line, supossed to be a 75' but it came with a push- pull master. No decernable tranny codes? What up with that? 77?? When did the masters of CBS come up with that? OOps! sorry! It is cosmetically great, as you well know it has inherent transient UPS shipping [hidden damage], maybe problems,[maybe?] you guys are the saviours of the modern day, left behind, vintage, fender amp, tube amp warriors! I wish that you had a shop next door! [well, maybe, I would be a pain in your a..! thanks, great to have your service on hand , once again!

Thought so, but checked with Wiki :

"Silverface models: 45 watts (power increased to 70 watts in 1975 and was given a Master volume with pull-out boost circuit and a solid state rectifier. Changed to 135 watts RMS in 1978 with an additional Mid control pot for the Normal channel and a Line Out jack socket.)"

Somebody at Wiki got their wires crossed. It was the Pro Reverb that went from 45 to 70 watts during the transition to ultra-linear chassis (just as the Super Reverb did). Not the Twin Reverb. TRs always had identical 3-knob tone stacks in both channels, going all the way back to the BF days. And TRs all had the 4 x 6L6 layout......rated power went from 85 watts for the blackface amps and a couple of years into the SF era. Then 100 watts around 1970 or so, followed by 135 watts when the ultra-linears were released in late '77.

The Wiki article you're mentioning about concerns the Super Reverb.

Yep, my 76 is 100 watts with a pull boost. The pull boost is horrible. I only used it a couple of times. It's a fine amp if you just dime the master volume and then ignore it and don't pull the boost.

Not much difference in the ultra-linear '78's either, Supro. That pull-boost is about as worthless as a Starbucks across the street from the Mormon Tabernacle in Salt Lake City. Just dime the MV and let some decent OD pedals do the "heavy lifting".
