I bought a Farfisa organ in 1969 from Nuncie’s Music in Birmingham, Alabama. I needed an amp, too, so they sold me a new, solid state Twin Reverb really cheap. Looking back, they probably just wanted to get it out of their store. But I used it for several years and it served me well. Lousy guitar amps can make good organ amps.

I have one, an 80's Fender M-80 and it still works, as a matter of fact I plugged it in today before work and spent 45 minuets on it, using my SG, Bridge PU volume 10 Tone 0, Neck PU volume 6 tone 1.5, creates that Clapton woman tone from Disraeli Gears, sorta.... or similar to a trombone type sound kinda brassy

Yea, the 1980s is about as old as a SS amp should get. Transistors grow old. Their gain goes up and they destroy themselves.
If you find one that works just put it on a shelf and admire it. You won't find transistors.

Hey it is pre 1985 and as the title of this forum states "Vintage Guitar Amplifiers (anything before 1985)" I didn't make up the name. I also have tee shirts older than this amp and I don't call them vintage, I call them slightly worn :lol:

Well... I'm old enough to remember when the speed limit in Nevada was "Reasonable and Prudent"
I'm also old enough to remember when car speedometers changed from:
"10 - 20 - 30 - 40 - 50 - 60 - 70 - 80 - 90 - 100 - 110 - 120"
to
"15 - 25 - 35 - 45 - 55 - 65 - 75 - 85"

I knew guys who would change the speedometer gear in the transmission tailshaft so they could read MPH directly from the KPH scale. It allowed the standard 85mph face to display up to 135, and it let the Corvette 140mph dial go to 220.

I too recall the "reasonable, and prudent" speed limits in California. While our ship was dry docked in Long Beach, several of us would carpool from San Diego every day. One morning (maybe 5:30), while in an almost new T-Bird, the driver got behind a CHP car and matched his speed, (about 115). Another officer pulled us over and ticketed the driver. We saw the judge a few days later, and the driver said his speed was perfectly safe on an almost empty freeway, with the car and tire condition. The judge agreed, and said that if the CHP officer felt his (non emergency) speed was safe, it must be!

Arjay, my 67 Grand Prix speedo only went to 120, but would regularly be out of sight. (A local State cop clocked me at 140 coming back from a gig 50 mi. away), He chewed me out on Monday!
