Hello:

I love the way Jimi Hendrix played the guitar. Someone said he was playing a Gibson guitar. I don't believe this as we were having a glass of wine and just talking. Any thoughts out their?

Thanks,

Jimi has been noted for playing several Gibsons, including 3 Flying Vs and an SG Custom 3 pickup.

There's a book out now that is a good source of the gear Jimi used from his earliest days to the end, from Danelectros to Strats and a Flying V that he hand painted...it has pictures of some of the pieces of the Strats he smashed.I think the title is called "Hendrix Gear" or something like that,I really like it.
Jimi used anything he could get his hands on early, and it has some pictures of him here in Clarksville and Nashville Tn. in R&B bands with Billy Cox.

Yep,that's the one.I found it really interesting for the history of the time he spent here in Tennessee,as an R&B player.
It's amazing how fast he went from being an unknown to a super star....I remember it well and how we all thought he was from England, and to think he had been here in Nashville where I was,as a kid at the same time.
