Hey dudes!

On April 25th I had the privilege to open for the legend with my surfrockband SPACEGUARDS (spaceguards.com) and let him sign my Fender Reverb Tank ('63 reissue).

Enjoy,
Steven

DD signed my Strat pickguard in 1995--He wrote "To Bob, Keep playing." Which is good inspiration-but before he did so, he shrieked, "WHERE are the STRINGS on this thing???!!! (Ed. note--.011's) Do you know what kind of strings DICK DALE uses??? .016, .019 (up to .068)!!!!!!"
He is, however, allowed to brag and talk in third person because he manages to be very approachable and likable at the same time.

Wow! 016 - 068!! That's like a madman's thing! Your neck will be totally bent, shouldn't it? I didn't even know that 016 exsisted...

Cherish your pickguard!

Steven

Pretty cool. Last time I saw him, there was another guy there with a DD sig edition that he was getting signed for the 7th or 8th time. After thinking about it, I realized that I had stood in the autograph line behind the same guy 10 or 11 years ago, when he got the first autograph!!!

Are you and your band on Surfguitar101??? I don't recognize the name.

Actually, the strings may have "only" gone to .060...He's got a signature set out, so it'd be those. I'm not on Surfguitar, actually not a surf guitarist, though I like the style.
