Hi there! i have a little question before blow anything...

i have a silverface twin (100 watts, master volume 1972), but no speakers on the cab. so im wondering if i can connect both speaker jacks to my 4X12 cab... the cab have an ohm selector like this.

(switch)
it moves to left or right

RIGHT LEFT / MONO
( ) ( )

4 OHM PER SIDE STEREO 16 OHM PER SIDE STEREO
or or
2 MONO (LEFT ONLY) 8 OHM MONO (LEFT ONLY)

HAHAH sorry for the bad drawing but im guessin if i can connect both speaker jacks of the twin to the 4OHM per side stereo on my cab...

the cab is loaded with celestion speakers, is a Cabinet from other manufacturer just im not sure if i can post the name here so. 6 is just a clue

if not maybe i was wondering to connect it to 8ohm mono, but remember that i want to permanently use this setup cause i dont have any speaker on the 2X12 twin cab, and i cant open the 4X12 cab for borrow 2 speakers cause the cab is not mine :( hope u understandme. thank you so much

Your amp wants to see a minimum total load of 4Ω regardless of how many of its speaker jacks you use.

Thus, you can wire each output ("speaker" and "extension speaker") to an 8Ω load as the jacks are wired to the output tranny in parallel. Or using the primary jack only you can use a single 4Ω load.

hahha sorry dude,.... i dont get it.... should i use the normal speaker output or external?? i dont have any speaker on the twin cab so im not sure if that will damage the amp. and i was wondering to connect both at the same time to the 4 ohm config on the 4X12 cab (stereo i guesS)... or maybe just use the normal speaker jack of the twin and use it on mono at 8OHMs

please can u be more spececific.... sorry im not so ivolved with ohms ,.... . thanks for your reply really helps.

also. my cab only works 2 and 8 ohms MONO, and 4 16 stereo... so wich one is better for the twin to handle?? or in other words... how can i connect the twin to the 4X12 cab without making any damage to the amp, i guess if the twin have two jacks at 4 ohms each. and the amp work at 4ohm stereo i can use both jacks and connect to the other two inputs of the cab... or not??? haha thats where im stucked. or just using it at mono (main speaker jack only. to the 8ohm mono input of the 4X12 cab.) its that okay ???? or let me know if i need to rewire something.... thank you!

Hi there, it seems that your 4X12 cab doesn't provide the correct ohmage for the Twin Reverb, to allow you to run all four speakers at the same time. Retroverbial explains that the amp should operate with 4ohms. Your cab will provide this with one of the stereo jacks connected to the normal(primary) jack on the rear of the amp. But then, only two speakers are being used, and this is fine. So this would be the best for a full tone and safest for the amp. You could try using the 8ohm mono speaker jack connected to the normal amp jack. This is reasonably safe for the amp. The only drawbacks are a change in tone and the possibility of flyback voltage causing some arcing in the output section. Actually, these Fenders are pretty tolerant of any speaker mismatches. Just be sure to have some speaker plugged into the normal amp jack whenever a guitar is plugged into the amp. Art
