Back in the 70's I bought a Gibson SG from a guy who told me it was a 70 Stock Standard...not that I cared then, but found out recently it was a 67 Special...nice

He threw in an amp in a wood box enclosure, said it was a Fender....I found out it is a (or seems to be) a 58 Tremolux!

How do I find out more about those puppies? Seems the tubes are wrong in it, but I am not sure.

As well, it would be nice to put it back in a Tweed cabinet, restoring it. How does one find somebody that does that?

Thanks everybody!

I know just the person who can put that amp right -- both electronically and cosmetically.

Drop me an e-mail.

great amp!

I think this link shows the Tremolux he has and would want to restore back to:

May want to give these guys a call:

I liked very much to post a picture of a silverface Bandmaster combo. I was lucky to find one but unable to copy & paste the pictures for posting.

Very cool info, Ned. My B' Master speaker cab is really rough. I'll have to get an estimate from those guys. Hey Chrome, great pics again! Sure would be nice if this Vintage Amplifier Forum had a pictorial section, that we could view whenever we liked. I didn't realize that you were located in Athens, Greece. Thanks! Art

Call me dense but I fail to see how posting photos of a SF Bandmaster combo helps the original poster of this thread in any way -- or the pics of various 6G9 and AB763 Tremolux amps. What part of "58 Tremolux" didn't you understand?

My signature photo is a bit on the big side, but I had the same question about chromeface's amp postings, which are all the wrong types of Tremolux. Certainly wasn't trying to post a picture of a 65 BF when the guy has a '50's tweed amp.

If you click on the link I posted earlier (here again at http://danocaster.smugmug.com/photos/57 ... WpL-X2.jpg )

it's a '57 Tweed Tremolux, which should be close if not the same as the OP's amp.

chromeface, I know that you're passionate about finding pictures of amps, but I'd suggest checking before just randomly posting.

Art - I like the idea of a section just of great pictures of user's amps -- or credit that they're some random amp picture off the web.

Your sig pic is fine, Nedorama. And the link you provided is just the type of useful help that the OP requested IMO.

But randomly posting photos that are shamelessly purloined from somebody else's website (especially without attribution) serves nobody's interest except perhaps the person doing it. Basically, it's a waste of bandwidth. And it deliberatly ignores someone's question while simultaneously obscuring and diminishing responses which may actually be of assistance.
