Playing through my DRII last night and when I turn on the reverb I get a static like sound along with the reverb. I'm thinking bad tube, but which tube is the reverb driver. Also is the phase inverter the last tube before the power tubes? Looking for info on the web it says the phase inverter is a 12AT7, but in the amp that's in the V3 socket the rest are all 7025's
( 12 AX7 ).
Thanks for any info,
filerj

Hi there filerj, V3(12AT7) is the reverb driver and V4(7025) is the reverb recovery tube. The Deluxe Reverb II uses a 7025 (12AX7) for the phase inverter(V6), to get a little more gain out of the amp. So you could use a 12AT7 for V6 if you're looking for a little more headroom. It might be a neat experiment to see how much it changes the tone. Art

Thanks Art, Maybe I'll give that change a try and see what happens.
