I have a stand-alone reverb unit we thought was from '63 but don't know about that. Here are some distiguishing specs:

Black tolex cover w/ silver grill cloth

Had black vinyl cables w/ one red tab, but I think these are not original. Were they originally plain silver (ground casing), or really black vinyl?

Tube chart label shows:
Model 6G15
Production #01 (hand stamped)
OC (hand stamped)

Transformer numbers:
125P24A
606443

Have searched around the internet for some answers and have come up w/ nothing, yet. I found a site at mojo but still don't have answers.

I think OC on the tube chart is March 1965.

Yes, orginal cables should be plain silver not black vinyl

You could buy cable looking original at: tubesandmore or antiques supply

I did install vintage silver braid cables, so I'm that far.

Also, from other posts: The March 65 makes sense for the stamp on the label because I finally brushed away the dirt and found 1965 hand-stamped there on the wood case bottom. I also found on the metal chassis, the numbers - 108 (hand-stamped) and R07814 (engraved). I would think the latter is the ser#.

So I've concluded that the transformer was made in 1964 and the unit was assembled in 1965 with silver braid cables and having a ser# R07814. This makes this unit a 1965, right?

Now I have a new Accutronics tank installed, but I want to put an original vintage tank in it's place. What was the original, and where would be a good place to look for one? Maybe here at Fender Community? I have been told this tank was originally a Gibbs but don't know which one.

Yep, 1965:

Reverb Unit 6G15 (brown, blonde, blackface)
R00100 to R00900 - 1961
R00900 to R02600 - 1962
R02600 to R04800 - 1963
R04800 to R07400 - 1964
R07400 to R09800 - 1965
R09800 to R11000 - 1966

I think the Gibbs tank would be correct for the era. Years ago I had a brown-with-wheatstraw 6G15, with the leather handle and "flat" amp logo. I believe it was a '62 but that was a long time ago. The braided stainless-steel input and output cables would be correct for your vintage (March of '65), same as all Fender blackface amps of similar age. The period-correct footswitch should be the black-enameled type.
