A month ago I bought a 72 Super Six Reverb. I picked it up for $700. I absolutely love this amp!

Sure, it's heavy as hell, but the clean tone I get is amazing. I love the vibrato as well. I instanly had to play " Bang Bang" by Nancy Sinatra on it! Haha.

I had been playing a 72 bassman 50 with 2x15 cab. I put that away and have been gigging the Super Six since. I know some guys don't like to gig vintage tube amps, but I'm crazy and this thing draws a lot of attention.

I mainly been playing a 2003 Gibson Les Paul Junior Special with the p-90's through it. It sounds awesome! I know that's almost blasphemy, although just this last week I busted out my 74 Tele Custom. The Angels sang my friends!

Are there any other Super Six owners on here? I'd like to hear what you think about your amp or any suggestions for replacement tubes or anything in general. Thanks guys!

The Super Six is a Twin Reverb With six speakers and it does sound great but it's a refrigerator. Fender also had a Quad Reverb that was also a Twin Reverb. They were all loud, heavy and sounded great. Congrats and good luck with it. :D

Here's the guitarist whose the name was associated with those huge combo amplifiers (especially the Quad Reverb) for many long years:

Here's an early photo of Albert during his early days in the late 1950s/early 1960s. Note the early '50s Telecaster. He started playing his '66 Custom Tele with the neck humbucker a couple of years later.

For all you Iceman fans, here's an exact Custom Shop representation of Albert's much modified '66 Custom:

Yeah, always dug the Iceman. Another great Quad user was Freddy King. Caught him many times at the Troubadour, in L A, CA. Him and that red 355 through the Quad(usually a trio) was very inspiring for me. Nice pics, Chrome. Someday you'll have to hold a seminar for us computer challenged folks, on how to get a photo over here. Art

Yeah Supro, Albert is sorely missed by a lot of us. I loved the way his vocals and playing were almost always complimented by a Hammond B3 in the rhythm section. It was such a stone soul sound !!! Art
