Very nice! More details on what you had to do to get it back to such great shape. Like the grillcloth.

Yes, very tasteful job indeed, Blues. Looks like you have a very similar tube line up, to my '55 Oahu. Art

Its like 4 or 5 watts.

The speaker was trashed and so i put a new 8" fender ceramic from one of the new vibro champs. (works great)

The "grill cloth" was made from spun screen like material and it was also a mess.

My wife found the hawaiian shirt at the local good will store and we cleaned up the baffle board and streched a piece of the shirt to make a grill cloth.

Believe it or not the old RCA tubes are working fine and the VERY !!! simple ctrcuit is still working fine.

Fun little amp for sure !!!

That reminds me of the Grateful Dead speaker cabs they used to have, had tie-dyed cloth stretched over the speakers. Very cool use of the Hawaiian spirit!

Thanks guys.
Its so funny you mention the greatfull dead shows, I was just watching the festival express dvd I got the other day and noticed the covers on the cabs of the Deads stage set up and thought, hey looks like my magnatone !!!

I got the idea from some of the original grill cloths on the mots amps that had the silk screened hawaiian print on them.

It does really look cool in person, can't wait to find one of the turqoise blue green ones to add to the collection.

These are easy to work on and fairly inexpensive little amps.

The sound is a bit dark, however I hear there are some preamp tubes subs that will help that out a bit.

Wish I had a humbucker guitar to check out with it ! The single coils sound great cranked, imagine a bucker cranked up, Super growl !
