Hey Guys, here we go again, DO any of you know of or could fix my amp. Probably , no vibrato, eliminated, tubes, plugs, etc. so.... its gotta be the LDR. can any one instruct me as what the hell to do? like I said before next to zero amp techs in my area. For resale issues, I would like to have it fixed. I dont use vibrato, but it is a must for resale value! Thanx ricstar

Yeah Ric, You'd need to discharge the filter caps, desolder and remove the original LDR. You'll need a schematic or layout to make sure the new LDR is correctly orientated on the circuit board. Two leads at one end are for the resistor and the the other two for the light bulb. Install the new LDR and test. Before doing any of this check the intensity pot to make sure the wiring and the ground are intact. Also check the pots operation, remember that it's a reverse audio taper pot. If everything checks out ok, then any parts can be ordered from Antique Electronic Supply,www.tubesandmore.com. Good luck and be careful !!! Art

Most cases your foot switch has to be pluged in. Or short out an RCA plug and put it in the switch plug. If you havent done this try it before spending money.

You should be able to see if the LDR is working or not before you change it.

Yeah!! Wingnut makes a very good point(thanks and welcome to the forum). Without removing the chassis from the cab, if you turn down the lights, turn up the intensity control and move the speed control, you can view through the ext. speaker jack. If the LDR is getting power and functioning, you'll see the light pulsate in conjunction with the speed setting. Thanks again Wingnut, I forgot about that safe and effective test. Art
