I tried to find a like forum on this subject ..sorry...any ideas what a good price is for a Twin reverb, serial#44748(stamped into right side , rear chassis)Fender speakers (blue label), some dings and dents on cab. The tremolo is NOT working. Thats all you hear is a "tick, ticktick" that matches the rate of speed thats set. It is a beauty. I'm trading a Epiphone Sheraton 2..and $? I used to have a 65 and had to sell some years back. I vowed to "get another one one day!" It came to a friend through a will type thing and he has no need for it and wants me to have it. I do want to be fair...
Thanks!
Mark

Thanks for info. I realize this is a broad question, but I'd thought I'd get some kind of direction.
Thanks!

Sorry.... I'm not trying to be obtuse. There is a lot of missing information about the amp.... such as pull boost (?), year, condition other than the tremolo. Serial # doesn't really help much...... there is some data on dating these amps with serial #, but the best way is to date the transformer.

The Fender Field Guide provides a lot of that information. You need to do your own research to satisfy yourself.

The Fender Field Guide, which I linked, lists all the vintage Fenders. Each amp has its own page that provides detailed information on the specific amp. At the bottom of the page is macro that tracks ebay sales from the last 18 months. There is even a chart of the high, low, and average prices realized. That seems to be a pretty good source for the value of these amps.

Obviously the Tremolo needs fixed. You need to contact an amp tech locally to see what they might think the issue is AND the cost of the repair - if repairable. There are a few guys on the board that do amp repair and/or maintain their own amps .... they can certainly provide an informed respond to your tremolo question.... short of taking it to a tech.

Personally- IMHO - I wouldn't give a lot more than the lowest price from the tracked ebay sales. As you are going to have to invest in the repair. A Sheraton new is about $600.... meaning used maybe $300. And according to the macro at the Fender Field Guide... a twin at the low end is around $400. So I won't be putting too much cash into the deal. Based on what you are saying about the amp.

Also note (if this is a silverface Twin Reverb) the average price is about $730 right now... and the prices for later models is even less (the pull boost models). So you just need to educate yourself - take the information from the website with you to review the amp and negotiate a good deal for yourself. I would use the pricing from the website to back-up my offer.

I hope that helps?
