Just wondering if anyone has any experience with one of these amps. The basic info that I've found, seems to describe an "old school" design approach. Being hand wired should make it pretty maintenance friendly. And if the tone isn't right, it should be easily tweaked to taste. Art

Art, you may have seen this, but if not, is this the amp? Looks pretty good for 30 watts.

Yeah Ned, that's the amp. I've been curious about this amp for a few years, and apparently the production number is very low. So the only first hand info are old reviews by owners. Guess in 1980 a 30 watt amp was not a hot seller. But to me this amp seems great: tube rectifier, BF tube reverb, modest gain boost controls, BF tone stack, BF bias circuit with adjust pot. With some attention to the lead dress wiring, the 2000pf caps could be removed from the output tubes input grid. A higher quality output trans would be the only other thing that might be needed. The other components were good quality at this time, especially the tone caps. I've worked on a couple of 75's, but haven't seen a 30. Art

Oh man, got some inaccurate info on the bias circuit. After looking at the schematics, I found it to be a hum balance control. And it was stated on the Amp Guide info you provided. Don't know why it was referred to as" the old-style bias adjust pot" in the Fender Amps the First Fifty Years book. Oh well, guess you could Blackface that circuit. Still seems like a neat handwired Fender combo(1X12 or 2X10) for the $800- $900 range. I guess the baffle board could also be replaced with some void-free marine grade plywood. Some NOS tubes, a quality speaker, new electrolytic caps and it's looking like another project amp. Oh Well ! Art
