I just got a 68 Bandmaster with the large 212 cab. Inside were 2 12" Celestion Greenbacks (MIE), I assume these are't original. The head is out getting re-tubed & biased. Any thoughts on how these speakers should match up with the head? BTW it's an early Silverface w/ Blackface circuit.

Yeah man, that should be quite the Rock n Blues rig. If the back is closed it should be a nice focused and balanced sound. I use a Weber California and a Celestion Vintage 30 in a big box open-backed cab, with my '67 Band Master. Nice amp you've got there. Art

I can't wait to get the head back. I paid $200 to a guy at work for it. I had to make a new baffle for speakers out of hardwood plywood, the original pressboard baffle was shot. I also replaced the black spray painted grill cloth with the Fender silver, white, black & blue cloth...as well as the front of the head. Both have the aluminum trim.
