Jay, try tapping the tubes gently with a pencil, if one of them is bad you'll hear it..... Hope this helps. It's a good place to start....... 8) Mike

Hi Jay, seems like a very sensitive noise. You might want to try some contact cleaner on all of the tube pins and make sure they fit tightly in their sockets. If any are loose, you'll want to discharge the caps and retension the socket contacts with a small pick or screw driver. If that doesn't help, you could try to isolate the culprit. 1) remove V1 and test(if no change reinstall). 2) remove V2 & V4 and test(if no change reinstall). 3) remove V6 and test(if no change reinstall). This method can help you to check three sections:1) normal pre amp, 2) vibrato pre amp, 3) power amp. You can reverse the testing order, but since you're not going to be doing a full diagnosis, it doesn't matter. I'm wondering about that rectifier tube or the other power supply components, if you can't isolate it to the pre amps. Good Luck Art
