Hello everyone,
This is my first post and I was wondering if anyone could help me identify my Fender Princeton`s year.
It`s a Silverface Princeton Reverb and doesn`t have any tube chart.
The volume nob can be pulled out for boost.
I looked on the transformer and the serial number is E1A606-046

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you in advance

I'll confirm that.

And the "E1A" you observed is actually EIA......(Electronics Industry Association). Many of the components in an electronic device will use this code to identify the manufacturer of the part and the date that it was made.

In the case of your transformer, "606" is the code assigned to Schumacher while the "0" indicates 1980 and the "46" means the tranny was built in the 46th week of that year. Pots, coils, speakers, and switches usually have an EIA code embossed or ink-stamped somewhere on the part.

As long as you don't use the pull-boost, you'll be fine.

An article that worked well for me:

Also, try a Deluxe Reverb output transformer in place of the one you have.

For me, Mazda NOS 6V6 tubes sound very sweet in this amp.
