Again guys the info your sharing is much appreciated. I am glad you guys share my opinion regarding playing and safety. I don`t want to alter the sound by changing stuff, I just want to enjoy the amp and play the hell out of it. I am not a glass case guy. I dropped the amp off this afternoon and I should here from the tech sometime tomorrow afternoon and I will go from there. Thank you Supro and Ned for the tips and the tube options. I checked both companies pages out. I guess I will see what the tech has to say and then make a decision regarding which tube to use. Hopefully money wont be an issue. Do you get what you pay for regarding tubes? JJ`s were cheaper than the NOS tubes. I am aware that each tube has it`s own characteristics when considering tone. I guess The closest tube to the originals regarding tone would be fine. As soon as I here back from the tech I will post what he has found as well as my decision regarding hardware. Then maybe a pic of the amp if I can figure out how to post it! That Bandmaster is a beauty Ned! I will save all original parts for sure.

thanks for the compliment. I used photobucket, which lets you add pictures to this site. My Bandmaster started out as a '65 head, but got it in bad shape. Had to replace the filter caps as well as the transformers that someone had hacked in the wrong ones. It's back to normal now, but I wanted a 2x12 combo for easier setup at shows. I still have the original head cab and could reverse it back anytime.

On my three Fenders, all three have had the filter caps and the power cords changed and look and play great.

On tubes - I've never used the JJ in my Princetons, so I can't comment how they would compare with the Mazdas, but I also wouldn't go back - the tone is amazing on my Princeton Reverb and I'll stick with the NOS tubes. For me, I think they're definitely worth the upgrade.

Same with preamp tubes. Upgraded my V2 preamp in my Bandmaster from a JJ to a NOS Philips JAN12AX7WA and my tone went from harsh to smooth without the annoying high end. You get more tone for your money.

Hey Fella`s, sorry for the long delay regarding amp tech`s findings. It fing blows my mind but he heard nothing wrong. Tech also felt I should leave amp as is!?!? Well I guess I am gonna play her for now, leave her alone until something goes wrong, and keep my shoes on while I play her.
