DRRI.
I am about to replace the original sovtek rectifier tube with that: TAD RT501 GZ34.
do the power tubes need to be rebiased for sure or can I play with it for a couple of weeks with the old setting before a trip to another city to the technician?

another question. the old rectifier was making a glassy shrill sound, it got louder and louder in some months.. then it died. I checked the new one and it has actually the same potential. the inner metal of the tube is not too tight and makes a resonance when putting it against a guitar neck while playing it. is it a common thing with gz34's? which are the most reliable gz34's?

Thanks,
e.

edit: sorry... a slightly wrong forum department.

Eman, you should be okay. The new GZ34 could affect the plate voltage a little, but not enough to harm the power tubes. ART

Still a good idea to check the bias when you change the rectifier tube to a different manufacturer.

Yeah Eman, Supro is right, it' a good idea to check the bias when changing rectifier tubes. The Deluxe Reverb is operating at maximum plate voltage for most 6V6's, so go with his advise to be safe. ART
