I just finished watching the Rolling Stones Shine a Light Movie, and noticed what an arsenal of vintage Fender gear those guys are using!, stacks of twins, and vibroverbs, and some others I can´t tell but they´re all Fender, It just called my attention, since mostly people refer to, or I read alot in here about Buddy Guy, Eric Johnson and SRV.
And well i just thought the legendary Stones should be considered (in my opinion) right there in the top of the "Classic Fender Tone" icons, just hear those guitars man!.......I also think it´s about time Keith Richards got his signature Tele, If I worked in Fender i would look at those guys!.

I'm all for it. Growing up, it was mostly the stones that got me into guitars, (fenders).

Keef did have his own signature guitar
http://www.gear-review.co.uk/reviews/keith/index.htm

He's far from ignored by fender. He pretty much created the relic guitars. Asking for his tour guitars to be beat up a bit.

Ofcourse for early keef tone, you need a british amp thats not a vox.

I wonder why doesn't fender, and almost other brands, keep a better archive... Sometimes you gotta lose way to much time looking stuff online when they should be nº1 interest in giving you such information... You are they're client after all right?

Actually, at least one of Keef's amps is a Victoria clone of the tweed twin, made especially for him. It even has his picture on the back of one of the speakers. There are fotos around where you can see it - check out the Fulltone site. I think the other amp is an original 50's high powered twin.

Not total Fender, but I guess having a hand made clone of a Fender still counts as Fender tone now doesn't it? Keef also often has a Mesa Boogie quad box under each twin, but these are dummy boxes, not plugged in. It's an old trick lots of touring guitarists have used to basically get the amps up at ear level. And it doesn't hurt that it looks like an impressive 'stack'.

Victoria amps-Fender amps. Yep, IMHO, Mark Baier nailed the reverse engineering to the 'nth degree 15years ago and produced the best alternatives of the Tweed Era Fenders. When I was still rebuilding and repairing Fenders, Mark was my main source of components;coupling caps, resistors, hook up wire, and transformers, when the customer wanted the best. His stuff is top shelf ! Art

hmmm, yes I'd love one of his artworks to crank up, and no doubt it'd be a lot more reliable, and cheaper, than a 50's original!
