Hi everyone, it's a pleasure joining you, as you know I'm having some problems with my twin reverb.First it was occasionaly cutting out after playing for an hour or so, but I could hit it and it would work properly for a little while and then finaly die.It didn't do this everytime I played but now finaly won't work at all (it actually turns on but has about 5% power).I can hit the top of the amp and it makes a clank sound (with reverb unplugged).
thanks for any help :D

Yep, sounds like it's re-tube time. You may also have a bad solder joint somewhere. I had a similar situation with a '66 BF Vibrolux Reverb. It turned out to be a bad solder joint on the 12AT7 phase inverter tube. I re-soldered the joint and never had the problem again.

I traded a '63 Volkswagon bug for this amp...a month later the VW was toast and so was the amp....Fenderphiles in Chicago would go over to California Ave., on the south side, and take their Fenders to Atomic TV...the old Russian guy that owned the shop was a MASTER....when I took in my Super, there was another Super there being fixed...the name on the work tag, Muddy Waters.
What the old Russian did was completely rewire the head....he put in different resistors, different wiring patterns and a new transformer. That was in 1973.....I'm still using it in club work today...
