I have a aa165 pro reverb chassis that I want to build into a head cab.
First thing is I need to rebuild the chassis, the PT is fried, I found the filter caps shorted.
I need to know what type of reverb tank was used in the original, was a 2 or 3 spring, and I assume it was a long tank.

Thanks,
CR

Hi nc, It was indeed the 2 spring long tank, model 4AB3C1B. Sounds like a neat project. ART

Here's my '69 Pro head cab. The drip-edge combo cab is now tucked out of harm's way. Coastline Amps did a fine job on the build...

Nice job on the conversion. Gotta be easier to lug around. 8) Mike

Yup, that's what I want to do!!! I ended up tossing the cab, it had gotten all wet from being in the shed all these years. Not sure what year mine is, it's aa165 blackface, which I think is pretty sought after....
I remember what it was to lug it around!!! It wasn't as much as the weight but the frigging size!!!

Very nice, Mike! I kind of went the other direction with a '68 Bassman head. It had been modded very badly. So I gently changed it into a very dynamic and verastile guitar amp, to my preferences, and had a custom 2X10 combo cab built. I spent a year and a half redesigning the circuit and finding the "right" components and tubes. But now it's a "grab-n-go" amp for the blues band or the church. ART

Thanks for all the nice comments.....

I've got an Avatar 2x12 cab at the shop where we practice.....loaded w/Weber 12F150's.
The original combo cab has a custom baffle in it now with the old Oxfords. The baffle extends up into the opening left by the chassis. It sits at home out of traffic.

Greg @ coastlineamps@yahoo.com built the head cab.....He goes out of his way to accomodate whatever you need. Work quality is excellent as are his prices. That Super Reverb Head cab is an excellent idea !!! You may even consider a custom baffle to pop into you combo cab !!!

I took the stock Oxfords out of my Bassman cab and it too sports 12F150's. Great speakers. 8) Mike
