hi I was just wondering if anybody could tell me what the going rates for silverface deluxe reverbs(even the ones with master volume and boost)are these days. And if I was completley off my rocker for asking someone to trade it for a blues jr. it's an older one but its in great shape. And I'm not looking for SDR thats all originale or in mint condition just one that fires up when ya ask it to

You'd have to search around. Decent SF DR's have been hitting around $800-900, but you may be able to find one in good operating condition but ugly. I don't think the Blues Jr would have a decent trade in value, but you never know. My HRDlx didn't... only $275. I did get $450 street. Do you have a craigs list in your area?

Why not just look for a used reissue? It might even be easier to trade. Older amps are great if they've been maintained. If not you'd have do a cap job, possibly tubes etc.

I have posted these links before.... but I think they are two reasonable places to check.

For what I refer to as "wholesale" (or ebay pricing). Check the Fender Field Guide. There is a macro at the bottom of each amp's page that tracks ebay sales for the last 18 months.

Heres is the page for Silverface DR's

And for "retail" - check out gbase.com.This is a website where a lot of vintage dealers list their inventory. You can search for the DR within the year range to see a sampling of what vintage dealers are asking. (remember... asking  )

Hope that helps

Well, he got no bids and it looks in decent shape. He's also got a very good seller's rating, so maybe price was a bit too high?

I think ebay is funny that way.... if the seller puts in a minimum bid - it does not get a lot of action. The seller goes "no reserve" and bidding takes off with the hope of getting a bargain. By the end, the auction gets into a bidding war as people decide they really want the item and the seller typically realizes a price they are willing to accept.

I watched an two year old Epi EL-00 go from $130 to $210 in the remaining hours of the auction. When you can buy one new for $299 - I thought the seller did really well. Others seems to sell in the $150-$180 range. Who knows...... the market can be funny.

The amp has a little static but otherwise works great worries me a little. Could be a speaker, tubes, caps etc. Still $800 is a good price. My Twin has a pull boost and it's not footswitchable. I doubt that is either. The master volume/pull boost faeture sounds like crap anyway and are not very collectable. The amp itself sounds great if you keep the Master on 10. If I needed or wanted another amp, I'd probably give it a go.

+1 on the master -push /pull.I tried mine one day to see what they sound like and they sound like crap.Keep mine on 10 at all times. It did allow me to get an older amp that sounds great at a reasonable price.Supro, just out of curiosity, how much does your twin weigh? My super reverb checks in at 85 lbs.

Pretty close to yours 80-85 lbs. Glad it has casters. :D
My new Rebel is 16 lbs and it came with a padded shoulder bag. The 1x12 cabinet is 31 lbs. Nice compact rig.
