Looking at vintage amps, I played a '65 Deluxe, should I wait around for a '65 Deluxe Reverb?

If it sounds good and the price is right I'd grab it. You can always re-sell if you find the 65 DR down the road.

Good advise, I'll probably go play it again tomorrow.

I'm using a 65 Bassman, no reverb. Don't miss it myself. 8) Mike

I too have a few amps without REVERB and I picked up an ELLECTRO HARMONIX HOLY GRAIL PEDAL and that solved that problem.

IF I was gonna only end up with ONE then ONLY you know that anwser....IMHO I would go with the NUMBER 1 VINTAGE AMP and that is the DELUXE REVERB

CHECK VINTAGE GUITAR MAGAZINE.....the prices on ORIGINALS can get very high from 1500.00 to 3500.00 depending on condition and originality.

Check out the book above THE SOUL OF TONE and know exactly what should be in the year AMP you're interested in.

With the VINTAGE PRICES as high as they are ya wanna get what ya should...if someone has a problem with you bringing a book to check tings out then they have something to hide.

GET the one you prefer......the one with the tone that makes you smile...as you have to live with it and it will be your signature sound...so make this decision slowly.

If you can take your AX to a place that have BOTH and PLUG EM BOTH in... it will help to hear it on the spot...but play the exact same thing through both so ya hear the differences.

I hope that was some help to ya

St James

Hi St James, thanks for the great advice! I'll be able to A-B them this week with any luck. There's also a '71 Super Reverb, all original ,I'm going to play as well. We'll see.
