HI FG, yes you can run a guitar cable from input 2 to the input of the other channel( 1 or 2 ) and plug your guitar into input 1. This particular amp will have no phase cancellation. You can adjust both channels to any desired settings. I have a '67 Bandmaster and it can really thicken up the sound. Been repairing and restoring older Fender amps for 20 yrs. and this is perfectly safe and fun. ART

ampwares.com may have your schematic and layout. Is yours a AA165 or AB763 layout? Should say on the label on the right inside of the cabinet.

Congrats on a great amp. I just restored a 65 Bandmaster and am loving the clean Fender shimmer.
