Post subject: Loud buzzzz when i turn on my vibrato switch

Ok i recently bought a Silver Face Twin Reverb when i recieved it buzzed but settled a bit then when i turn on the vibrato on the footswitch all hell broke loose and i started hearing a lound buzz i turn the vribato off and it was gone but not completly. What could be the Problem Tubesssssss I dont know help.

If you're not sure of the age of the tubes, I would check them out first--either try switching out the vibrato tube with a tube you know is good or doing a complete re-tube of the amp.

If you're going to do a complete re-tube, I would check out http://www.eurotubes.com

They will talk to you and put together a set to your requirements (more bass, more treble, hotter, warmer, dirtier, etc.) and they're pretty reasonably priced, too. I bought a complete set for my '63RI Vibroverb for $125 (shipping included!).

If your tubes seem ok, it sounds like you need to schedule a trip to the repair shop!

Ok thanks for the comment. I will check them out. I starting to think that it might be the pre amp tubes i remember that I looked at one from underneath and was dark and not lighting up. But now my amp does an incredible screech when i pass 6 or 5 on the master volume. I think im going to take my amp to the old shop and they will tell me whats wrong and of course get it fixed. Hopes its nothing major. thanks again.
