I just scored a Pro Reverb and am having a hard time finding information about it. It has a single 15" speaker and is supposedly a 1977 vintage with serial number A816315. It also has the master volume knob. All I can seem to find are the ones with dual 12" speakers. Can anyone shed some light on what I have? Thanks, Brian

Thanks for the response, but I should have clarified (although the 1977 year should have been a hint) that this is a Silver Face, so that link isn't of any use. I'm pretty sure it's not in the original cabinet.

It sounds like you have a Pro Reverb placed in a new or modified cabinet. They didn't come with single 15" speakers. It sounds like a modificatin that a pedal steel player would do.

The master volume has a boost switch too. Try it if you haven't already.

Thanks for everyone's input on this amp. It does appear to be in a replacement cab with a 15" Peavey Black widow 4ohm speaker and the correct tube chart is on the inner frame. I haven't looked at the circuit yet, but the Master Volume push/pull switch doesn't seem to have any affect. Turning it does increase the volume, but it sounds the same whether pushed in or pulled out. What is it supposed to do?

Thanks,
Brian

The push/pull switch on the volume pot is a treble boost switch which a lot of players did not like so these were often disabled or modified to do something else. Yours sounds like it was just disabled.

Its still a very cool amp.
