Regarding the fender (tweed) amp, have found the date:

Twin 5C8, 5D8, 5D8-A, 5E8, 5E8-A (tweed)
001 to 500 - 1953-55

The serial No. is 0020.

I understand that it is a low power?

Can anyone let me know how I can varifiy that it is a low or high power.

On the scamatic my dad wrote "Break line at this point and put R Amp in series" anyone @ fender know what was done. Could send schematic to you pdf file.

I am also interested in finding its value.

Thanks again,

Hey Denny ,was your Dad Warren Mayhew? If so, I knew both him and Irv.

As far as Power, your amp is most likely the 40 watt version. Does it use a single 5U4 rectifier tube or 2- 5Y3's? The later version used 2- 5U4's and then the last of the tweeds used a 5AR4. Word is there were some examples that used 2- 5AR4's. They also used 4 6L6 power tubes and went to 80 watts.
I've got a 5E8-A model and it's plenty of amp for what I play. I do understand why they are so sought after though!
