Dear All,
I finaly got my first Fender Amp this week. A 1981 ProReverb. Boy am I pleased with this purchase. It was in a music store on consignment, the previous one owner from new had passed on. The store had had it for about six months without interest. When I saw it I had to have it but not at any price. Ater a couple of weeks negotiating I finaly paid about $625 US for it. I am well pleased because it is in mint condition and all original Fender tubes and all. As for the performance well it has the sound that I have been looking for with my SG guitar (early 70;s model which I have owned since 1975.) Now I have to get hold of a Strat and see how that performs. For a pic click on or copy and paste this link. On top of the pic is an all sizes button, click on this for the big pic.

Nice amp, I have a '66 pro reverb and it is my favorite. I will give it to my daughter when I pass on... (and she'll probably sell it!) lol

Thanks for the reply Allan.
You are dead right about the kids selling of the stuff as soon as we depart this world.
What kind of an axe are you playing through your amp?
Regards.

I have a couple of different strats I play through the Pro Reverb, my favorite is a sunburst Eric Johnson. I think that amp was made for single coil pickups and the combination of a strat through that amp is heaven to me.

I own a few guitars with Humbuckers and really don"t like them through the Pro Reverb. But, they sound great through my Bassman Head or a Marshall 50 watt head I have... but, maybe that's just me and and the style I play in...

But, I am always on e-bay looking at other "Pro reverbs" its my favorite Amp. I would love to see a re-issue of a 66 pro reverb some day!

If someone could explain to a dinosaur how to post a picture of my stuff I would...

Hi,
yes interseting stuff that you have. I suspect a Fender is a lot sweeter sounding than my Gibson guitar. My next project is to go into a music store and try all the Fenders theh have, then make a choice. Probably it will be an American standard.
Posting pics? I notice some pics on these forums, not sure how to do it. I do know that you can't post directly from your PC but have to put them on a 3rd party site like Photo Bucket or Flikr which is whta I did and then copy and paste the link to your post on this forum. Flikr is a Yahoo set up. You will need to register to post pics. Give it a try. just put yahoo flikr in your search and that should get you there.
Cheers.
