I want to replace the tubes on my '77 Super Reverb. I replaced them about 8 years ago with the Groove Tubes and chose the ones that said they give a "hotter sound". I have regretted it ever since. The sparkly clean tones that this amp is known for went away and I want it back.

I want some tubes that are going to give me a super fat clean sound--I have tubescreamers for distortion and don't need any help with a "hotter sound".

Also, where do you recommend I buy tubes from to ensure a MATCHED pair?

Thanks guys!

Try the JJ's. Got em in my Bassman and Plexi. Real happy with the tone. Try eurotubes.com 8) Mike

Yeah JJs,
I have a Super 60 and I blew the power tubes a little while ago. I went with some PMs, but they sounded horrible - trying for that 'hotter' sound was a bad move. I tried some Mesa's and they were a little better, but still not as good as the orignal Fenders I had in there. I tried the JJs and it made all the difference.
Nice smooth sparkly clean tone and the O/D channel sounds so much better that now I only use the TS-9 as an option.
