I have a 1957 Champ amp ( GG ) purchased from the orginal owner. The amp is in clean condition. It has a 6 in. oxford speaker. RCA tubes. Gray power cord. No rips /tears.
My questions are:
1. The jewel light is green. Is this the color it came with? I see that fender amps are red.
2. Should I change tubes? What type?
3. Power cord. Replace it with 3 prong ground?
Thanks for any answers.

the amp jewel should be red, but if you like the green, then don't bother changing it. that's purely cosmetic.

if the tubes work, don't change them as rca tubes are probably better than any current production tube out there.

it's up to you if you want to change the power cord. i would change it to a grounded cable, but if you're worried about resale value/originality, then don't do it.

Replace the cord if you don't feel like getting killed.

Also, have a tech check out the electrolytic caps in the amp. If they haven't been changed since '57, they need to be.
