Hi,
I found a Deluxe Reverb for sale in my area. The seller says that it is a 1964. I am waiting for some answers as to it's originality. Where do I find the transformer date codes? Are they visible from under the chassis or do you have to take it apart to get the numbers? Where are the speaker date codes located? Can they be seen by looking into the back of the amp? I read somewhere online that Fender didn't put the logo on the grille cloth until sometime in 1966. Is this true? Thanks

That's right the 64 Deluxe Reverb should not have the logo on the grill cloth. There should be speaker date codes on the speaker frames. Also check the tube chart, if not available, you have to check the transformer itself. Should start with 2 letters.

I sent an email asking for some information. They wrote back saying that the serial # is #ac 057015. It looks to me like this would be something like 1990 march? Does this number look like a genuine number? Did they make the reissue in 1990?

Sounds like a reissue. Fender did make the Reissue Deluxe Reverb in 1990. It should be made in the US but it will have the Fender logo on the grill cloth.

I was hoping that it was older but even the reissue is pretty good. I can pick it up for $525.00. This seems like a good price to me even for a 1990?

It is a good price, even for a reissue if you like the way it sounds. At that price if it was a vintage that would be the deal of a lifetime.

I ended up buying it as soon as I saw it. Sounds great and it looks brand new. Not a scratch on it.

Congratulations, glad it worked out. It's a great amp, enjoy that reverb.
