Hello Forum Friends...

So i have a 79 Twin and it was starting to give me a subtle crackling noise.
(I've had the amp, purchsed from a friend, for a few months. I knew that it probably needed some TLC. It was fine until it started making this little sound so i took it in to a boutique dealer to have it paid some attention)

Now, all the tubes except two preamp tubes(which will soon be swapped out) were replaced (which is half the cost.) some things were resoldered etc etc....
And i don't know that i was severly clear about the noise coming from the amp.
But, when i got it back much to my dismay the noise was still there...
(anyone with the amp on for more than 5 mins would have heard it so...quality of service is coming in to qestion bigtime)

Now. My amp has a master volume(i don't know that they all do or don't) I find that when i turn the Master down and keep the vibrato channels Volume up the noise is not as apparent.
But, i prefer the sound with the Master Up!
And when i crank the master it's just a sea of crackling madness. it will drive ya t'drink! (as gramma says)

Has anyone ever expirienced this kind of sound? Any ideas what it could be?
Any words are greatly appreciated because i don't really know what we're dealing with here and i'd like to find some more info. thanks
David
