One of my favorite amps(well really it IS my fav) is my 1970 Fender twin reverb I bought back in the mid 70s, in the eighties I changed the speakers to Celestions, and I like it. Lets tel leach other what speaker is in our amps if stock or mod. in my 1973 fender rhodes suitcase electric piano I put HH invaders from an old Laney cab just for fun and it was a more compressed almost cleaner sound to my ears. The best fender I ever had and I am a dope for selling it was a 70s era Twin with JBL's that was a great amp. but my keyboard player at the time kept throwing money at me and it was one of three I had at the time so...now I am sad and looking. I also had a 1975/76 that had one jensen and one utah that was different but still a twin. in a 66 i had the previous owner had modded it to 1x15 with an SRO that was killer, I wish I still had that one too.

So far I've stuck with the stock speakers in three amps but I do have some celestions on a shelf waiting to be used.

My Champ tweed clone has a Jensen Ceramic C8R in it, although it is a clone the original supposedly had a P8T. My Marshall has the stock 75W Celestion in it from the 80s.

My Rhodes era "75" had a non stock when I bought it so I went with Eminence Legend 1258. I would have went back to stock but I couldn't find out any reliable information about which model speaker was stock. The only thing that I could find from Fender info is that it was an EV or a JBL.

Whenever I bought my '76 SFDR in 2000, it was equipped with an Altec 417-8H. I see no need to change it.

JBLs deliver crystal clear cleans, no speaker break up at reasonable volume.
