Hi,

I'm trying to get a handle on what it might cost for the complete, four component (input trans, output trans, reverb trans, choke) upgrade for my new Fender Deluxe Reverb RI?

Also, was it worth the expense?

Certainly there must be someone who has had these mods? Anyone?

My hand-built Marshall clone has all Mercury Mag parts and sounds killer. No experience with use in Fender amps though. Sorry. 8) Mike

Is there something wrong with you Deluxe Reverb. I'm not sure I'd go through the expense on a reissue. If you had a SF, that might be worth it just from a maintenance standpoint. But the DRRI's I've played sound pretty sweet.

That's an interesting comment. I thought that I read somewhere that the DRRI has transformers with the same performance characteristics and specs as the original but different manufactueres.

I'm not sure, but I know a lot of the components now come from Taiwan. The original also was not a PCB amp it was hand wired. It is pretty much the same circuit as the 65 has hand wired chassis mounted tube sockets and that's a good thing.
