I recently found a 64 Vibrolux...can anyone tell me a little bit about this particular amp? I can find alot of input about the Vibrolux Reverb amps...but not much about the old Vibrolux. If anyone can enlighten me a bit on this rig I would sure appreciate it.

I feel a bit silly replying to my own post but here goes...I just found (after a little more research) that the Vibrolux was replaced by the Vibrolux-Reverb in 1964 & the black face Vibrolux was only in production in 63 & 64. If anyone has more info on the 64 black face Vibrolux for me it would be greatly appreciated!

It's a superb sounding amp and worth quite a bit. Here's a site with some more info about it. If it's all original, do your best to keep it that way.

Thanks for the info hi-fi-guy. I am relatively ignorant about vintage amps so I got in contact with some old musician friends over the weekend that have considerably more knowledge about them than I do & You pretty much summed up what they were all telling me. They pointed me to a gentleman near me that has a great reputation for working on these old amps & I plan to get with him this week & see what it will take take to it up & running.
Again ... Thanks for the info!

I have webers in my vintage fenders and I never looked back. the vibrolux is appox 35, so a 50 watt speaker should handle it great. If you want an alnico or ceramic is your preference.
The 12F150 or 12A150 series would work great if you want to keep that original blackface tone. The high powers 12s are rated at 60s watts, so that would give you a slighly different tone alltogether. Look into what you need and then decide on what you want. Weber has alot of speakers to choose from. The new Celestion Gold would sound like butter in that amp, but its pricey. The weber british series are also great. I have an alnico blue dog in my SFPR and its amazing.
