I recently purchased a 65 Reissue Twin Reverb and LOVE it. I primarily play with a new American Standard Strat which sound AWESOME. However, my band is playing a few ZZ Top and Clutch songs. What pedal(s) should I look at to give me the overdrive/distortion I am looking for? I really want to retain the depth of the Twin tone but need some distortion for practice at lower volumes as well as live higher volumes. HELP!!!

Try a MXR distortion 3.I have a lot of od/distortion pedals but if you only want one this is a very versitile pedal for not much money $70.It goes from a nice little crunch to allmost a fuzz sound and it has tons of clean gain, enough to use it for a clean boost.Great bang for the buck. This is not a tube screamer clone ,a lot of fun.

BIG MUFF!
for that truly greasey ZZ sound it screams and farts ( no kiddin) plus aids in those squeal harmonics The rev Willy G loves

You might try a tubesreamer ts9 or a ts9DX.

Thanks all for the responses! I was able to borrow a couple of the pedals mentioned above as well as a couple of others. I ended up buying the VOX Satchurator pedal. It has a fairly wide range of OD/Distortion. I found that I could get a really cool 70's type sound (think James Gang) as well as some more modern tones (Clutch). Very versatile that plays well with other pedals. I also borrowed a BOSS Blues Driver that sounds great when the amp heats up.
