Check out the Fender amp Feild guide on the net. Just google it and you will find out all kinds of stuff on dating your amp.

Hello razorlite. I have a Dual Showman reverb amp model TFL5000D which was purchased by my fellow freind and bass player. The amp was ordered in1969 as a bass amp option with JBL D-140 (bass speakers) JBL-D130's were for guitar. From my original notes and talking to a Fender amp technician, the amp was rated 85 watts rms and 187 peak. This amp was the same as the 220 watt version except it was detuned to handle speakers on early model amps. Tubes are : 6L6GC's (4), 12AT (1), 12AX (1), 7025 (1), 12AT (1), 7025 (1), 7025 (1) for a total of ten tubes. Ihave original schematics for this model but they're not with my Original Fender Service manual, so I'll try and locate them and send info to you. Iwas told at the time, Dual Showmen amps and Twin Reverbs shared the same units, but I can't verify this til I find my original schematics. Also I have original Fender catalogs for that time period thyat I can search for. Hope this has been of some help to you. TIMREK

Hi Razorlite Guess by now you've tried replacing the 12AT7 reverb driver and/or the 12AX7 recovery tubes. Hope that was causing the oscillation. I think dating the transformers and pots will help more than a serial#. The Dual Showman Reverb and Twin Reverb were the same circuit and chassis . If it's a '68 you have a gem! It's the AB763 circuit. A Blackface Twin Reverb in a head. Art
