Hey Fellow Fenderheads-

I just replaced the stock speaker in my Early 70's "Vibro Champ" with an 8" Weber Alnico 4 ohm speaker and let me tell you- What A Difference. The Speaker is lush and responsive. Very nick bell like tone that really brings out that "Strat" sound.

The Price was also very good at $35.00- Just cant beat it. :D

Hey Freeze,

Good to know. I have a 65 re-issue deluxe reverb and was thinking about replacing the speaker with a weber .... no I'm even more tempted. Did you buy it directly from the weber site?

Mike

I'm with you; I've recommended Webers to several posts asking about good 8" speakers. I put one in my '64 VibroChamp a year ago and became an instant fan. I caught mine on sale for $31.50!!! That's an unbelievable price for the quality. I also replaced 2 blown Jensens in my '63 Concert with 10" Webers and they're fantastic as-well. They're not quite the deal the 8s are though, more like $135.

Hey Mike-

I got my Weber through Musicians Friend. It was $35.00 or so...and man what a difference. I went to the Weber site and checked out the specs before I bought. Its like having a new amp.

You know I just tried my first Weber the other day and it took 3 weeks plus a day or 2 to get to me and it was utter crap. My Mod 10 sounded way better and it isn't even impedence matched. I think I must have ordered the wrong speaker because I hear nothing but good things about Weber but this was just a total waste of money. Oh it is for sale if anyone wants it. hahaha Only played for 15 mins and taken right out.

Man I hate that! You're, honestly the first negative opinion of Weber I've ever heard! I've tried Jensens, Eminence and Weber in the last year and have been most impressd with them.
I'd bet they'd take them back if you gave them a call to tell them what a bad experience they were!

I hope you just got the rare LEMON! From my experience with them, I'll bet they'd take them back!
