What watts and Ohms are required in a replacement speaker if I want to use a single speaker instead of two on a 76 Fender Twin Reverb 2x12?
The back of the amp reads "100 watts 4 Ohms" .I've heard these are really 80 watts, not 100. I was looking at an 80 Watt 4 ohm speaker, would this be safe? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

My recommendation would be to use two Jensen C12N 8 ohm speakers. I bought my amp used and someone put plye speakers in it. I did not like the sound it made. The new Jensens are the way to go. Just wire the two speakers so it will take both at 4 ohms and you will be set.
