I have a fender princeton no-reverb amp. It is in really good shape but i do not know what year it is. serial number is #A603200. I gotta believe it is a early 70's.

I would like to know about how much it is worth. Maybe if someone would like to trade or buy it? I would like to get a blues jr. or a hot rod deluxe.

Or i'm I out of my mind for wanting to get rid of it? It just seems like when playing it i'm driving a mustang with a v-6 in it. I'm missing something.

I played a blues jr. and a hot rod i love them. But i was wondering also if maybe there is a effects pedal i could find to plug in my no-verb to solve my problems.

Welcome to the forum, fyi...no for sale/trade ads. You can find what others are selling for by checking on the bay or craigslist.

You're not out of your mind...just want a different sound. Good luck!

If you play live, I find the reverb isn't that important. At home, I through together a Fender 63 Reverb Unit out of parts I bought on ebay for about $150. I like three knob reverb because of the mix knob and the tone knob. I have a 65 Princeton that has tone to die for and a 1970 Princeton that is a more clean amp.

Hello Murray1542,

Welcome to the Forum, I own a 1970 Princeton Reverb, and mine has tone to die for also. It was my first Fender amp that I bought. I've played small clubs with that amp, and taken it to a dozen recording studios, and miked it up so it sounded as big as wall of Dual Showman's(with an attitude), and I still use it quite often today.
I would'nt trade mine for any of the equivalent amps of today, even the boutique ones.

That's just my take on it. Maybe one day, I'll get lucky and find a mate for the one I have. I know I would regret parting with mine, and you may end up regretting it if you did that with yours.

I can't tell you exactly how old your amp is but I think it is approx. a 1976.

A Princeton is a very cool amp but it is clean, low power(12 watts) and they can be made to sound incredible, but if yours needs tubes or tweaking( likely after 32 years) its performance will vary considerably, but it is well worth fixing up. I would recommend that you fix it and learn what it can and cannot do before selling it. There are many pedals that can give you distortion or reverb but nothing can match the clean sound of a well tuned small Fender amp, IMHO.
I feel its worth keeping and I can see getting a Blues Jr. for those situations where you need a little more than the Princeton.
