An ohm meter will do the job.

Marshall Gold or Red Syncronized? Their both great rock speakers arguably better than vintage 30's or celestion 75's. My old knockup cab has 2 reds and a couple of carlsbro's from the 70's. People dont realize how much difference a great unknown like them can make.

Hey nikininja... well my mistake I said it was a marshall but its not :P I dont know why I said marshall ... its a celestion g12 modern lead 70...
Its a long story really... Years ago when I was like 19 I found a little guitar amplifier near the thrash container at the building I used to live ... and I saw it and it looked like a really crappy amplifier but I took it with me just to try it ... the amp was a Crate Amplifier, it looked really old and it didn't sound good at all as a matter of fact I thought it was a fake crate amp so I played with it that night and then next day I decided to throw it away... so I did that but not before taking a look at the speaker.. I saw it was made in England (at the time I didn't know anything about speakers) so I thought it might be a good speaker so I took it out of the amp and threw the amp .. so then I put it in my closet along with many other stuff I never use haha so two days ago I saw it and I decided to find out what it was .. and it's a Celestion G12, 8 OHMS Modern Lead 70... I already found all the information.... apparently it was made in late 80's so I am sure it is a nice speaker..... I am glad I picked it up that night years ago :)

A non-stock speaker for your amp is one of the best mods your ever gonna make to sound individual mate. Amp builders dont tend to put much thought into speakers at the best of times. So a quality speaker of A.N.Other manufacturer becomes a great individual mod.

Yeah, I am thinking I can build a cabinet so I can put this baby in it and use it as an exension cabinet for my little marshall AVT 20... since its 8 ohms it will work sweet.... I have a marshall MG100 hdfx half stack too but that one is really loud and I only use it when I play with my friends... my avt is the one I use in my room and it sounds really warm and stuff and I think this extension cabinet I have in mind will be really nice... :)
