Mike, Charlie is still around and making accordian amps. He runs his website so must still be very active here it is.

http://www.wemwatkins.co.uk/

loads of stuff by him on his site including the watkins history, which i found a good bedtime read lastnight.

Ceri, It sounds fantastic. Think of a early champ on steroids without the excessive compression. I wound it up in the shop and was stunned, absolute stones heaven. I'm really getting into these little single-ended amps. The transition from clean to dirty seems to be a lot smoother on classA amps than classA/B. Ideal for country sounds too.
Unfortunatley its too nice to play every day. I wouldnt want to risk damaging it. I enquired of music ground on denmark st earlier as to a valuation on it for insurance purposes. Think i'm going to be off down there soon. Best take the missus along too, to help keep my wallet in my pocket. :D I hate to think what i'd spend in a shop that has 3 64'strats in stock.

Hey, then pop into Macari's just down the road too, why not? Their six neck Hutchins guitar in the window got a double page spread in Guitarist last month.

Turns out, Steve Macari's wife does my wife's toenails (or something) of a Saturday morning. I asked if they chat about guitars. They don't.

But in Denmark Street don't look in

'64 Strats are the least of it in there. Your wallet would not be safe. I think we know you well enough here to say that with some certainty...

Cheers - C

OK. The only reply i've had back from various know it all's who sell this old stuff, is from the guy who owns the shop where i saw the 60's clubman. He told me £400 is what they go for. Now do i (A) believe him. Or (B) Think he's trying to pull a fast one should i want to sell it.

You were at the right place at the right time! Nice Deal indeed!

You are so lucky! That looks like it was just made! Are there ANY imperfections or anything?
