I just bought a mid 70's silver face Bassman 10 (4x10) combo. 300 bucks
It looks to have the original tubes.

Can i put in JJ 6l6's or Groove tube 6l6's without biasing the amp??

Also missing 2 volume knobs. Any ideas where to get some?

it's usually a good idea to adjust the bias every time you change tubes, regardless of the brand used.

knobs can be found many places. try:

groove tubes are kind of a rip off, they're just rebranded russian and chinese pedals. there are plenty of other options. just google it. find reviews and such.

There are some good NOS tubes on eBay, but make sure the seller has tested them and provides a refund.

its got great headroom right now. i pit it up against a Peavy 5150 half stack last night and the 5150 all but disappeared in the mix when i started playing, however i was hoping to get even more power with some new tubes.

thanks for the suggestions about where to get the knobs the first link you sent had them instock.

If it sounds good, don't replace the tubes. You wouldn't be able to get more power out of it with new tubes if the old ones still work fine anyway. Just mike the amp and run it through a PA if you need it louder.
