I just bought a 1979 fender twin reverb for $600.00 and when I got it home and took a look inside the chassis it looked ok. My biggest concern is that I didn't realize the speakers were plugged into the extension speaker jack when I tested it before I bought it and upon plugging them into the right jack, I get little to no volume at all. Dimed out and with the master pot pulled it is but a light murmer of distorted guitar signal that comes through the speakers. The ext. jack works just fine though. Here is a link to the schematics : http://www.ampwares.com/ffg/schem/twin_ ... _schem.jpg. I don't understand what the purpose of the green/yellow tap is that feeds the tip of the speaker jack in question. I borrowed my friend's 1975 100 watt twin reverb to compare the chassis and they are totally different beasts on the inside, mine mostly with the line out jack and the bias balancing circuit using bias caps located near the filter caps instead of on the rectifier board. I guess I really don't understand the concept of an ultralinear transformer. Could someone please try and explain how this output curcuit is supposed to work and possibly shed some light on my issue.

Deepest Regards,
Louis

I would take it to a good tech for an evaluation. It could be anything from an output tube to an output or power transformer.
