Can anyone that has a 67 Blackface Deluxe Reverb check your strain relief and see what the part number is. It will be visible on the outside lip of the strain relief. Most likely the top back panel will have to be removed to read it. It will have the name HEYCO on one side and the part number on the opposite side which is the small piece that is attached. If these are installed correctly the small piece that has the number should be on the top. It works either way but HEYCO says the first is the correct way. Thank you

Check the specs of the products shown on this page to see if your power cable matches the listed parameters......

Arjay thanks I have all that information and I even talked to them directly.

Heres the deal, the original part number is 6P-1 they told me the original part Heyco 6p-1 which came in the amps and fits the chassis hole has been “discontinued” and replaced with Heyco SR6N4 catalog #1210 (rounded end hole) it can fit a 18/3 or 16/3 cord.
They also have one that is for flat cords, it has more of a squared hole for flat cords.

Both Heyco replacements are larger than original strain relief and the chassis hole needs to be about 1/8” taller and wider than original hole.

I have 3 early production 67 SF and a early 68 SF and they all have the 6P-1 strain relief. I have replaced all of the cords with 16/3, removed and reinstalled the strain releases with ease using only pliers. They fit into the chassis hoke no problem. I have a 67 SFDR that I acquired with only half the strain relief in the hole with a replacement 16/3 installed, real brilliant, the chassis hole was cutting into the cord. I know why they couldn't get the complete strain relief into the hole.
I have a spare 6P-1 and it will not fit into the chassis hole. It is larger both ways.

So the question is, what strain relief originally came on this amp with the original 18/2 cord if the chassis hole is so much smaller than the other amps. All the other 67-68 amps use this 6P-1.

Just trying to confirm if the 6P-1 is the only strain relief that was used or if there was another one that may have fit the hole without modding it. I don’t like the idea of enlarging the hole on any pristine vintage amp. I have no desire to do the rubber grommet and zip tie method.

If the hole has to be enlarged I doubt you would be able tell with the strain relief installed. It just doesn’t seem like the right thing to do with these amps but it looks as though there really isn't much of a choice if I want to keep it looking original as possible.

Any thought on what may have been used originally. This chassis hole is much smaller than the others. Have you ever heard or seen this?

I've only had to replace a strain-relief grommet once in my recent memory and for that task I used a generic replacement that I found at Lowe's (likely of chicom origin), along with a new 16/3 power cable intended for industrial power tools (grounded plug at one end, pigtail on the other). Both fit the amp chassis (a '68 Showman) perfectly. That it doesn't feature the Heyco logo and P/N bothers me not a whit. You may have to follow a similar path.

If I could get one that fit the hole without having to ream it out, well that would work for me. I can do without the Heyco name. I think its the fact I can’t figure out why this chassis would have a smaller hole than all the other chassis I have from the same year. I’ll check out Lowes, thats where the 16/3 cord came from. Thanks again for the tip.

The smaller mounting hole must be common to the Deluxe Reverb chassis -- both of my vintage specimens (a '68 and a '78) share that trait. The DRRI uses a different arrangement where the power cable exits the chassis on the bottom.

Antique electronics sell amp popular strain relief.

On a 67 Blackface with a "new" 3 prong power cable ( it is a must to replace the 2 prong ) you may need to mod a strain relief inside if cable is round and / or bigger; easy.

No need to ream the hole.
I do often.

Cheap job that work ; use round grommet for the hole with tie-rap ( mounting head ) to fix the cable inside the amp :
